IT & Telecoms Project Engineer

Role description:

We are seeking a skilled IT & Telecom Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The IT & Telecom Project Engineer will also be responsible for communicating project progress, risks and issues to stakeholders and senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple IT and Telecom projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are completed on-time, within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and third-party contractors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules, and ensure all stakeholders are informed of project status updates.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate issues and risks to stakeholders and senior management in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conduct regular meetings with project teams and provide guidance and direction to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure projects meet quality standards and requirements.
  • Manage and monitor project financials, including project budgets, forecasts, and actuals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory
    requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize project delivery.

Requirements/Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in IT and Telecom project management or engineering.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Hands on experience in laying/dressing of cables and racking/stacking of equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in engineering or IT related field
  • Data Center design certification will be an advantage, example, CDCDP
  • Certified in Structured Cabling System and Design and RCDD will be an added advantage
  • CCNA and CCNP will be an advantage
  • PMP / Prince 2 certified will be an advantage
  • Maintaining your qualification by staying up to date with changes in the industry and having an understanding of relevant software, such as AutoCAD will be beneficial to succeeding in this job.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • Working hours from Monday through Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm.
  • Ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is required
